Dealers sell fewer bicycles

Fewer bicycles sold in germany in the first half of 2017. Compared with the same period last year, sales fell by 2.2 percent to 2.64 million bicycles, according to the german bicycle industry association (ZIV).

"We are watching this with a certain amount of concern," said managing director siegfried neuberger before the eurobike bicycle trade show in friedrichshafen on lake constance. At 1.44 million wheels, production was also 2.7 percent below the previous year’s level.

One of the reasons for the decline was the already high stock of bicycles in germany. So 80 percent of households owned at least one bicycle. In addition, the bicycles have been manufactured to a higher quality and are therefore more durable.

Green light for the ketchentor in coburg

An end to the meandering through butcher’s alley. From now on, the ketschengasse can be driven out of town again – but only to casimirstrabe. The last 150 meters will probably remain a construction site until the end of the year.
There is one exception: the sambaumzug will drive from anger through the ketschendorfer strabe into the ketschengasse. From 23. July then the construction work will be resumed. After the laying of the pipes was more complicated than expected, the ceiling and paving work can only be started now, as housing architect rainer wessels explained at the press conference on wednesday. By the end of the year, the acceptance test should be completed, says ullrich pfuhlmann, technical director of wohnbau.
Susanne wittman from the public order office points out that ahorner strabe will remain a dead end until the work is completed, casimirstrabe will be passable on both sides, but turning through ketschentor will not be possible.

Kleine allee

Wider sidewalks, the somewhat narrower two-lane paved street, a small avenue consisting of eight columnar oaks and a sophisticated lighting concept then provide an attractive welcome to the city.
A start was already made in 2017 with the illumination of the ketschentor and the villa victoria. Pfuhlmann, who showed understanding for the difficult situation of the individual handlers, then promises an appealing entree and hopes to be able to compensate somewhat for the restrictions during the construction period.
For city manager andrea kerby-schindler the closure of the ketchentor was also a psychological issue. "If the gate is closed, you can’t get into town. This train of thought created a barrier in the mind", says it. That’s why in the future, together with anette vogel from wohnbau, formerly a city manager herself, there are plans to improve communication on future construction sites, also "to take some of the drama out of it".
On the coming weekend one wanted therefore under the slogan "green weekend" spreading hope, as she says. Green light for a free ride, it promises and announces various actions by retailers. The flyers will be available tomorrow.

Window cleaners please report!

The work continues on monday, 16. July with the "window cleaning" project. City councillors, employees of the wohnbau and the city management will clean the windows of the construction site dust and swing the cleaning rag on this day. "Volunteers are still welcome", says andrea kerby-schindler with a smile.

Road construction is brought forward

Road construction is brought forward

Mayor franz buttner (ABB/interessengemeinschaft) had announced the good news in the town council. Ramsthal is quasi the laughing third, because the extension of the circle road KG 13 between garitz and wittershausen is delayed. Therefore, funds are available in the short term to implement the mabnahme in ramsthal.
"Planning by the engineering firm hahn und kollegen (bad kissingen) is running at high pressure", says dobler. Until 1. September they must be submitted to the government of lower franconia in order to receive state subsidies. If all goes well, according to dobler, the construction machines will be able to start up in may of next year. Before the end of the year the acceptance could be completed.
The road will be built between the ramsthal exit in the direction of ebenhausen and about 250 meters past the old ramsthal sports field. Juergen dobler estimates the cost of building the tram at 800,000 euros. The sharp curve coming from ebenhausen shortly before the entrance to ramsthal will also be significantly softened as a result of the reduction in the number of lanes. This area will be "significantly safer" thanks to a coarser curve radius and a steeper cross slope, says dobler.

Core stuck traffic circle

The centerpiece, however, will be a traffic circle at the intersection of KG 4 and KG 6 in the direction of the B 286 and the landfill site at the height of the old sports field. This will alleviate another focus of accidents. The aim was actually to change the main direction of travel and to give KG 6 the right of way over KG 4 coming from the direction of ebenhausen. This, however, had led to a significant change in the course of the route.
The traffic circle, on the other hand, is considered a good solution, not least because it creates a calmer area. This is important with regard to the bike path network. Cyclists have to cross the road here.
A cycle path is also to be built from the exit of the town to the exit at haskenstein.

Bbz munnerstadt in the plan, hammelburg high school stopped for the time being

Bbz munnerstadt in the plan, hammelburg high school stopped for the time being

The millions flew around the ears of the district council members at the meeting of the culture committee on thursday: they set 30.14 million euros as the upper limit for the new construction of the vocational training center (BBZ) in munnerstadt. Architect prof. Gunter benkert even had the good news that the estimate after about 80 percent of awarded trades is about 600000 euro below. In contrast, the costs for the renovation of hammelburg’s frobenius grammar school more than doubled: the district had started with 15 million euros. In the meantime, according to district administrator thomas bold (CSU), it is "just under 40 million euros". Therefore, the committee now first decided on a feasibility study.

Younger buildings are to make way

Michael weinbrenner, managing director of the munich office of haindl und kollegen, presented the current planning for hammelburg. "The 1960s building brings quality, but the 1984 building is problematic", he summarized the investigation of the substance. Among other things, the load-bearing corridor walls make it difficult to implement new concepts in the younger part of the building. Therefore, it is to be demolished, the old building housed superordinate rooms such as teachers’ rooms, and an extension building with learning landscapes was built on the site of the current gymnasiums. Along kissinger strabe, the district had to rebuild gymnasiums and a dining hall as a result. "The project has become increasingly rough, especially the costs for the building services have exploded for us", weinbrenner admitted.

"The concept is very conclusive, we have no problem with that, but the costs hurt", commented county commissioner bold on the development. "We are reaching our limits", district councilor and nudlingen mayor harald hofmann (CSU) pointed out that the municipalities must also share the district’s investments. Deputy district administrator monika horcher (grune) also referred to the unresolved question of accessibility. In order to increase traffic safety, district administrator bold can well imagine a campus solution with the secondary school, but: "we do not have to decide whether the road is closed", he referred to the city of hammelburg’s competence with regard to bus traffic.

Art protects against madness

Art protects against madness

"Dream images – bildertraum" the current exhibition of the art association in the monchshof is over-written. But at the vernissage the ambiguity of the title became obvious: the fantastic art of alfred kubin (1877-1959), caspar walter rauh (1912-1983) and stephan klenner-otto (born in 1959) rather take up nightmarish themes.
A clock with a hand that cuts off a head every hour. A cursed man who sweeps other creatures – seemingly motionless – into the black abyss. Or oversized gruesome shapes and skeletons, this is how alfred kubin interprets the threats of the times. Caspar walter rauh, who this year celebrates his 100th birthday. The artist, who was able to celebrate his 50th birthday, has processed the experiences of his war service in poland, france and russia in his paintings.
In the works of the contemporary artist stephan klenner-otto, one repeatedly encounters the absurd. Creatures drawn by decay and loose eyeballs are part of his pictorial language.
"I simply had more luck than the other two artists", says stephan klenner-otto. He did not have to experience the horrors of war personally. But he also knows depression, despair and abysses – and he gives them shape in his paintings. "Art protects from madness", is one of his favorite sayings.
The paintings from three generations are very different in style – and yet they have some things in common. "Art comes from ability", said the chairman of the art association, karl-heinz greim, complimenting the artists. Mayor stefan schaffranek was pleased about the importance of art in kulmbach. With nine exhibitions a year, the kunstverein, which has just celebrated its 150th anniversary. Member has set the bar high and given art a platform.
Caspar walter rauh is actually at the center of the artist's triad, astrid fick emphasized in her laudatory speech. The artist, who lived for many years in kulmbach and eventually died here, would have turned 100 this year.
Evi weier admires rauh's art. "For me it was always the uncle walter, but unfortunately I had little contact during my lifetime, I lived in essen", betrayal the grobnichte of the artist. She herself has some caspar walter rauh pictures in her collection.
Stephan klenner-otto has also made his first etching available for the exhibition. The special one: "I made it when I was 19 under the guidance of caspar walter rauh", tells the artist.
